About

A salary calculator that answers the question offer letters skip

Job offers print a Cost to Company figure in bold. Almost nobody can tell you what actually lands in your bank account each month. That gap is exactly what this tool is for.

What this site does

CTC Calculator is a free, India-focused web app that converts your cost to company into a real take-home figure. You enter your annual CTC, choose how your salary is structured, and it works out your monthly in-hand pay — after income tax, your own side of provident fund and professional tax. It also lays the Old and New tax regimes side by side and tells you which one leaves more money in your pocket for FY 2026-27.

Why it exists

Most people negotiate on CTC and budget on in-hand, without ever lining the two up. They are not the same number, and the gap is easy to underestimate. A 25% hike can become half that in hand once progressive tax eats the top of it. This calculator exists to close that gap before you sign, so a headline number never surprises you on payday.

Who it helps

Anyone paid in India and trying to make sense of an offer, a raise, or a move between tax regimes. That includes fresh graduates reading their first offer letter, people comparing two packages, and employees deciding whether the new regime is worth switching to.

  • See your monthly take-home before you accept or negotiate.
  • Compare how much two offers actually differ in hand.
  • Flip between Old and New regime to keep the lighter tax bill.
  • Estimate what a target in-hand number demands in CTC.

What it will not do

Be tax advice. The figures are good estimates built on the FY 2026-27 rules, but your real tax depends on the full picture — investments, rent, home loans, and deductions this tool cannot know. Treat the number as a dependable starting point, and check anything significant with a tax professional.

Privacy by design

Every calculation runs in your own browser. Your salary figures are never sent to a server, stored, or shared — there is no account, no tracking of what you type, and no analytics on this site. A share link is generated locally and only contains the numbers you chose to put in it.
